We own the location where the beautiful  Herkimer Diamond gemstone was found (Little Falls, New York) and can therefore guarantee that the Herkimer Diamond  is 100 percent natural.  No treatment has been done to enhance the natural beauty of this gemstone.

Set in high quality sterling silver  bonded with white gold which as a result prevents tarnish. The setting is a split band design. The luscious all natural morganite accent gems add the perfect touch of color.

As is the case for any crystal found in the Earth a coincidence of appropriate conditions is responsible for the growth of Herkimer Diamonds. The environment must provide a crucible for the crystals to form in.  Also the elements that are needed for the crystal’s formation must be present and in a state of free dissociation.  The constituent elements must be moving freely within a confined area. Conditions must then occur which allow these elements to come back together in a regular geometric pattern that is  dictated by the electrostatic forces at the atomic level.  . When these conditions are available the result is the beautiful geometry of Herkimer Diamonds.

The host rock for Herkimer Diamonds is the Cambrian-age, Little Falls Dolostone. The Little Falls Dolostone was deposited about 500 million years ago and the Herkimer Diamonds formed in cavities within the dolostone. These cavities are frequently lined with drusy quartz crystals and often are coated with a tarry hydrocarbon.
